Back from my trip to Philadelphia. Loved the city. Most everything within walking distance from my hotel. I like how the city is laid out. Once you get your bearings, its easy to navigate. Impressed how the historical is incorporated into the fabric of Philly.
And who woulda thunk it, the best part of the trip was a visit to Eastern State Penitentiary-a medieval, castle like ruin in the middle of a modern urban city. Very eerie, creepy and informative. A Gothic erotic ghost story romance is brewing in me head-inspired by the walls of this century old fortress.
Also hosts a haunted house theme-Terror behind the Walls.
I may just go back!

Welcome home. I went to Rottenburg when I was in Germany. A walled village, it's got a castle in the middle and a torture chamber. Crazy place...went there twice. With your clever mind and love of the dark side, I can imagine the story you'll cook up will be terrifying.
I really like the tone of this post; almost reminds me of Rorschach, from the Watchmen. That's a big compliment! Lots of information conveyed with very few words...and I've gotta say, you're braver than I am. Having seen ESP on Ghosthunters, you wouldn't get me past the first gate!
Thanks Folks for stoppin' on by.
I'd love to see Rottenburg. I enjoy that rich tapestry of history woven into the fabric of the village.
I hope so Margie..although it may end up more of a horror story if I let loose the darkness!
Thanks J.S. (love Rorschach from Watchmen!) Very kind of you.
During the summer is a twilight tour, would have liked to been there as the sun set. The place itself is a brooding presence that gets under your skin-plus audio tour narrated by Steve Buscemi frames the history in an almost cinematic way.
I did not feel any other worldly vibes, but I'm sure at night..I wouldn't be surprised if a cold shadow passed over you....!
Yeah..I'm stoked to go back for Halloween!
I'll be praying for you at Halloween if you go, Kb!
Thank you,Margie.
I may need some Divine Intervention if I get locked in a cell-with a ghost!
